The plant

Industrial drying kiln built and certified in Colombia, installed at our facility on the Troncal highway, vereda Birmania, Los Palmitos — 2.5 hours from the port of Cartagena.

04 · THE WOOD

Advantages of kiln-dried wood

  • Stability: the wood stops "working" — no warping, cracks or open joints after the furniture is delivered.
  • Quality: kiln-dried wood meets the highest quality standard; green or air-dried wood develops problems — such as cracks — within months or years.
  • Sanitation: heat kills insects, larvae and fungi. A mandatory requirement for export.
  • Better finish: sanding, gluing and treating perform better on wood with controlled moisture.
  • More value: KD (kiln-dried) wood sells at a better price than air-dried wood — in Colombia and abroad.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a drying cycle take?
It depends on the species, thickness and initial moisture. When quoting we give you the estimated time for your batch and the drying schedule we will use.
What is the minimum volume?
We work by the m³ or by full 100 m³ / 3530 ft³ kiln loads. Write to us with your volume and we will propose the most economical option.
How does ISPM 15 certification work?
Your packaging enters the kiln, is brought to 56 °C at the core for at least 30 minutes, the temperature curve is recorded, and it leaves marked with the official ICA-backed CO-CO70001-HT seal. We hand you the batch documentation.
Do you pick up the wood?
We can arrange transport depending on volume and distance, or you deliver to our facility on the Troncal highway in Los Palmitos. We have a forklift and loading crew on site.
What final moisture content do you deliver at?
Whatever your use requires: typically 8–12 % for furniture and cabinetmaking, 12–14 % for construction. We deliver with a final moisture reading.
